A great way to start your day

I thought of sharing a few things that I’ve made my good morning habits. They have shown to be a great start of the day and for me at least something that sets a good feeling for the rest of the day. The things I’m talking about is; Oil pulling, tongue scraping and warm lemon water. All of it in the morning before you eat or drink anything else, yes, also in the order they are listed below


Oil pulling
, this is something I wish I knew about years ago. Have you ever heard about it? Wether or not you have I will give you a short note on how and why you should do this.

Let’s begin with why.
Oil pulling has proven to reduce toxins and germs. It brings down plaque and helps infections that you might have in your gums. When we get rid of bacteria from our mouths we helps the rest of the body to stay healthy all the way down to keeping our blood clean. Be honest, would you like to have your mouth-germs in your blood? Didn’t think so either.

How to do it; get hold of organic cold-pressed, sesame, coconut or olive oil (yes, we recommend organic because if you are to remove toxins and bacteria then why add pesticide and chemicals instead?) when you wake up in the morning, yes, before you do anything else (I do this while I’m still in bed) you take two tablespoons of oil and put it in your moth. Coconut oil is more like a paste and it will need to melt in your mouth. Swirl it around, let it go round every tooth and in every forgotten corner of your mouth, do this for 10 – 20 minutes (do not keep the oil for more than 20 minutes), Then spit it out, if you thought about spitting it down the drain, please don’t, the oil will get cold and clog your pipes, spit it out in a trash bin. Rinse your mouth with warm water then brush your teeth with toothbrush and warm water to get all the toxins out. Make sure to spit out all the residues. (since many people unknowingly have inflammations in the oral area it can occur small bleedings after a few days of oil pulling, do not stop, this should go away when the infection gives in to the oil. if it doesn’t go away after a week or two i recommend that you se a dentist)


Tongue scraping
This helps you get rid of the toxins that your body removes when you are asleep at night. Most of these toxins you can find on the surface of your tongue. If we don’t remove this, well, then we just gonna digest them again when we have them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. so, let’s do this. You get a nice breath, the color of your tongue will be pink without any layers on it and you will help your body to stay healthier. .

How to scrape? This one is really easy. If you have a tongue scraper, use it, for those – like me – who doesn’t have one, take a clean table-spoon and with that you scrape the upside of your tongue gently. Firm pressure. and scrape from the back to the front. This takes about 10-30 seconds to do and after you’re done you rinse the mouth with warm water. Spit out all the water.

Lemon water.
This way you start your day with an alkaline drink that will boost your body, It will help to clean your body. Makes your skin look healthy and fresh, strengthens your immune system and helps to reduce inflammations. Your morning breath gets freshened and gives you an energy boost. Lemons contains so much more than the vitamin C, such as magnesium, potassium, complex of B vitamins, iron, calcium and fiber.

If you haven’t done this before I recommend that you start with half a lemon.
Heat water in a pot or a water boiler (please, stay away from microwaves!!) Squeeze the lemon juice into a mug or glass, pour hot water into the juice and top of with a bit of cold water so you can drink it all at once. After doing this you shouldn’t eat or drink anything else in 15-30 minutes so the alkaline lemon juice can work its magic on your body. (yes, it’s easy to wait those minutes. just take a shower, do yoga, wake the kids or get dressed in the meantime.
FYI,the lemon is acidic so please don’t brush your teeth until 30-60 minutes after, it’s better just to rinse with cold water. (you already did brush after the oil pulling, remember?)

They say that it takes 21 days to establish a new habit in your life so this is something I’d like you to try for the next three weeks.

I can only speak for my self and I bring lemons with me when I stay at friends houses or even at hotels and on my last trip i found myself buying organic oil for the oil pulling.
